The Pivot Journey
The Pivot Journey unfolds over six stages, each based on clinical guidelines and behavioral science.
It’s true: We don’t start with quit. Pivot starts with Explore. During these nine days, participants get to know their coach, use their new breath sensor, and complete daily activities designed to reveal new things about their smoking.
Goal: Increased awareness of smoking behavior and how it affects personal and professional lives
Build is tailored to the individual’s readiness to quit. Those who are ready can work with their coach to quickly build a quit plan. Those who aren’t can do additional activities and coaching designed to build skills, confidence, and motivation to quit.
Goal: Motivation and preparation to quit
Participants finalize their quit plan—acquiring medications, arranging support, and preparing a craving kit—and complete activities designed to help them be as prepared as possible for their quit.
Goal: Commitment to quit and increased likelihood of success
Because Pivot approaches quitting as a skillset, rather than a single act, participants now have the skills and preparation they need to attempt a quit—with intensive coaching and support.
Goal: A quit attempt
Because you’ve provided a platform that is with them for the long haul, your newly smoke-free employees receive continued coaching, support, and practice designed for the vital first few weeks after a quit attempt.
Goal: Coping with the challenges that come immediately after a quit
The focus shifts to maintenance. For up to a full year after they entered Pivot, participants continue to build skills and confidence, while their coaches provide support designed to prevent relapse.
Goal: A smoke-free life
